Perth Motorplex, the inaugural event for Pro Stock and what a long way to travel, Bundaberg to Perth 4800 klm's and 53hrs of driving. Aaron headed out on Friday afternoon and pulled up in Perth on Tuesday morning and being the only driver he had had enough. Tyronne and Kerry flew over and arrived on Tuesday ready to do a lap or two as Wednesday had been scheduled for testing.
Wednesday Testing
What a day with rain and wind making it miserable for all who were there. Aaron managed two passes and Tyronne one pass as the weather played havoc. The track was tricky in these conditions seeing only a few going down the race track Aaron on top at days end with a 7.11 sec pass.
Saturday race day
Perth's weather had not improved with gusty winds and cold conditions. Qualifying , and after three rounds John Barbagallo had ripped a record setting 7.03 sec pass to sit on top with Tyronne second and Aaron fourth. Tyronne would meet Scott porter in round 1 while Aaron would line up against friend Shane Tucker.
Aaron and Shane are out first and what a race this was , Aaron has a slight hole shot advantage and he holds it for the win with Shane running a 7.121 pass to Aaron's 7.135 pass the timers reading a .0005 win to Aaron
Tyronne and Scott Porter are out next and yes another hole shot win Tyronne goes .045 on the tree to Scott's .085 . Tyronne goes 7.137secs to Scott's 7.108 another close one.
Round 2
Tyronne is against Lee Bektash and Aaron faces John Barbagallo.
Aaron and John are first up, a big hole shot to Aaron , Aaron goes .022 and John is late with a .098. John gets a bit loose and Aaron takes the win.
Tyronne and Lee are next, we are into a burndown , the starter waves them in,
Tyronne succumbs to Lee and bumps in deep, Lee takes his time, they are in ,Tyronne red lights by .009 and Lee wins.
Finals
Aaron and Lee , Aaron is not waiting for a burndown and goes in . Lee takes his time both are in, Aaron has the hole shot , what a race the fastest side by side pass in pro stock history Aaron goes 7.064 and lee goes 7.067, what a way to end the meeting.
This bumps Aaron into second place in the championship and Tyronne slides down to 7th, Tyronne has a lot of work to do. At least the 53hr drive back to Bundaberg would not feel to bad for Aaron.
